Origami Clutch - Celebration Obijime
This clutch is a Mikan original design, handcrafted recycling antique Japanese silk.
The fabric, made of pure silk and lamé threads, is covered with geometric shapes and obijime motifs in vibrant colours. The obijime is a silk cord tied around the obi. It is the last accessory to be added when dressing up in kimono and besides its decorative function, this silk cord plays a crucial role: it is this very cord that holds the obi tight as well as the whole outfit together.
