Custom order

your very own Mikan bag

How to place a custom order?

You haven’t found your dream bag in my store? I will craft it for you. You can place your order in 2 easy steps.

1. Choose your fabric

With over 40 vintage and antique obis in the collection, there is a vast choice of colours and motifs for you to choose from. For each fabric, read more details and learn about their story and the meaning of their patterns. Using your own obi or kimono is also possible if you wish.

2. Choose your design

There are 6 original designs for you to choose from. From the handy phone pouch to the wide travel tote, find the design that most fits your needs.

Price and fabrication schedule are indicated on each design page. At the bottom of each page, you will also find a form to fill up. Once the request is sent, I will get back to you via email in the next few days to start the process.

And if you are looking for inspiration, you can have a look at previously made designs by visiting the archives.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

• ‘Do you ship wordwide?’

I do! The cost varies depending on your location but when you place your order, I will confirm the shipping cost and schedule with you before I start creating your bag. In the meantime if you want to have an idea, you can read more about my shipping options here.

• ‘Can you make a bag with a fabric I already have?’

YES! I often have customers sending me their own fabrics to create from. It can be an obi they inherited in their family or one they purchased specifically for me to work with. In this case, please fill up the request form (you will find it on the bottom page of your chosen design) and indicate “own fabric” in the according section. I will let you know the address to send it.

See the design options here.

• ‘How long do you need to make one bag?’

The time varies depending on the time of the year but is usually 2 months or less. But, at times like Christmas and New Year, orders should be placed before mid-october., However, it is always safer to order your bag in advance especially if is for a gift. If you are looking for a piece to receive soon, please check my online store. You will find a few of my original designs, along with a selection of vintage items, all available worldwide.

• ‘Can I visit your studio?’

Sometimes it can be easier to choose a fabric or a design by seeing them in real life. So, if you are visiting Kyoto, and more specifically Arsahiyama, where I am located, you can contact me in advance to organize your visit. Please contact me here to schedule your visit.
