This bum bag is handcrafted using the precious textile of an antique Japanese obi (large belt worn with a kimono). Though the obi was antique, it was found perfectly new with a paper tag on it, indicating “Kyotango orimono”, meaning it was woven in Kyotango, a city located in the North of Kyoto prefecture, famous for its silk production.

The motif represents paper fans decorated with flowers of all seasons: cherry blossoms, camellias, plum blossoms, chrysanthemum, peonies. Small phoenixes are also flying amoungst the flowers.

The back of the bag is made in a lightweight, resistant 3D mesh which allows the bag to take minimum space when not full, and perfectly fit against your body.

The adjustable strap allows you to wear it as a bum bag or a cross body bag.

Materials

  • Front : antique Japanese obi belt 60% silk, 40% golden lamé threads

  • Back : resistant 3D mesh polyester & nylon mix

  • Silver waterproof zipper

  • Adjustable nylon strap

Size

  • height: 19 cm (center front)

  • width: 18 cm (bottom), 29 cm (widest)

  • depth: up to 15 cm
