Japanese paper fans are useful objects that are also designed to be appreciated as pieces of art. This one is decorative with a seasonal pattern and would be displayed in a room in winter when awaiting for the first plum flowers to bloom.

It is covered with a gold background on one side and a silver background on the other side. Both sides are decorated with delicate branches of a plum tree in bloom. All elements are handpainted identically on both faces of the object and the fan is signed by the artist on the golden side.

The bamboo structure and entirely covered with black lacquer.

Condition

Used. The paper is sow some scratches here and there due to repeated use, but the gold and silver coatings, as well as the painting, are not damaged. The silver coating is darkenedon the end of the fan. Taking these aspects into consideration, the price is lower than other similar items in great conditions.
