Tsuru & paper fan

MOTIF

This obi is covered with paper fans decorated with rich auspicious motifs. The majestic crane, the pine branches, the rickshaw, the chrysanthemums, all these motifs are commonly used on celebration outfits such as weddings, wedding anniversaries etc. This motif is very rich and also displays many other elements that you can try to spot: plum blossoms, peonies, tachibana (orange blossom) and other small flowers and berries.

Such obi are often made with toned-down colours and this one is a very colourful example.
