Momiji & pine

Archive

MOTIF AND ORIGIN

This obi pattern represents juxtaposed momiji (Japanese maple tree) and pine tree.

If the Momiji is much appreciated in the fall when they turn red, there are at least a thousand varieties of Japanese maple trees that have been bred over the centuries. Some are even red all year long.

TEXTILE

This obi is woven jacquard silk and lamé gold threads.
